The SQL Server 2016 CTP 2.3
release includes enhancements to the core SQL Server components and also
addresses issues that were reported for CTP 2, CTP 2.1 and CTP 2.2. The full list
of features and improvements can be found on SQL Server blog. Download CTP 2.3 here.
Along with CTP 2.3 is the
availability of SQL Server 2016 Upgrade Advisor preview 1.1. Upgrade Advisor is a stand-alone tool to help
users of prior versions understand what might break and what behavioural changes
to expect when they upgrade. In this preview only the database upgrade analyzer
and the stretch database analyzer is functional but you can vote for the other
three features when you click on them (see image below). Download Upgrade Advisor 2016 preview 1.1.
Also released is Management
Studio August 2015 preview, which deals with installation issues on Windows 10
and also some report UI and Object explorer issues. The list of August, July and June fixes and features as well as the list of limitation and issues should be reviewed before installing this preview. Download the SSMS August preview.
